Appearance:
Heads Are well proportionate to the body with clean cut features. Heads are usually of straight profile and nose is a bit straight forward.The nostrils of the animal are wide and open. The eyes of the breed are prominent, slightly slant and have a kind look. They are wide spaced and clear.The ears are usually small, pointed and pricked. The ears are quite reactive and carried alertly. Neck Majority of the ponies are strong, muscular and are medium length and well proportionate to the body. Withers Not too prominent. The shoulders are generally strong, well muscled and slopping well in this breed. The chest is deep and blends into well muscled shoulder. The body is more or less round, well muscled with well sprung ribs. The legs are set squarely under the body straight and true at each corner. The hoof has almost the same slope as pastern. They are tough and compact and usually do not require shoeing. The manes are coarse with plenty of hairs. Manes grow upright but fall on the side when hairs grow longer. Back and Loin, the back is generally short and straight. The loin is short, wide and well muscled in majority of the animals with good underline. The croups are of good length and muscular. It slopes gently from hip to the tail head in majority of the animal. The hind quarters in majority of the animals are muscular and strong, indicating great strength. The tail is generally well set with good growth of switch reaching down to the fetlock.The skin is usually thick with rough hair.
