The American Cream Draft horse was known for doing a lot of farm work, though they were becoming popular in the early 20th century, it was not a good time for them for they were being replaced by tractors.
Since the American Cream Draft horse is born with the champagne gene, it is born with brown hooves, pink skin and blue eyes, the eyes go through multiple stages of change as the horse matures; it will go from blue to hazel then to amber and sometimes in certain cases, green in adulthood.
The American Cream Draft horse is very smooth in it's movements.

The breed faced extinction in the 1970s and the; The American Cream Draft horse Association was falling apart as well. In 1982, the few remaining breeders formed a new foundation; the American Cream Draft horse was then brought out of endangerment.
